Pidato Singkat tentang Media Sosial | Short Speech about Social Media

       Assalamua'alaikum wr. wb.

       Good morning, ladies and gentsmen. Let’s thank God for His blessing and guidance so that we can be together in this moment. I also want to thank you for the presence of judges and audience here.

          Standing in front of you all, I would like to deliver my speech about “Social Media and its impact on youth”. Do you know Social Media?

Social media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and/or exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. 

 For example, we have friends in remote locations and we want to talk to them. Before we know social media, we just sent a letter to them, or call their phone. But, because we know about social media, we are using 'Facebook' or 'Twitter', or 'Skype' as possible, to talk and chat with them with more facilities such as real-time chat, video calling, many more. So, we know that social media has many benefits for themselves, especially to young people. And, a lot of wrong in using it.

The reason I talk about this theme, because it has many negative impacts.

For example:

1.     Rape:

Not a few women experienced rape incident, was originated from the introduction of social media networking through Facebook, twitter, many more.

2.     Pornographic

Easy entry of pornographic content in social media, it's very dangerous if the content is received by people who are not old enough. That would make the brain think negative.

3.     Kidnapping

When a user of social media accounts tend to talk or share information to people who are known or not. And a criminal action is to abduct people and take their organs and sold.

Ways avoid the dangers of crime:

1.     We do not easily provide information to strangers.

2.     Not easily trust strangers.

3.     Do not offend or vilify people.

Conclusion

I've discussed the negative impact of social media.

1. Beginning of rape through social media.

2. About the pornographic content.

3. Kidnapping causes through social media.

It can be a good thing for young people if they use it wisely or it can be a very scary thing if youth use it carelessly.
